What are your rates? Can I book just for a weekend?
Pre-Booking
While rates vary based on the time of year and length of stay, our current summer rates are as follows:

Nightly rate - $325 per night (3 night minimum excluding 4th of July week and peak weeks which require full week.)
Weekly rate - $2200 (June through Labor Day)

These rates do not include 9% Maine rental tax (applicable on rentals of two weeks or less), pet fees, and 3.5% service fee (waived if paying via check).

When is check in/check out?
Checkout time is 11 am, and the unit will be available by 3 pm for check in. Although the standard weekly rentals will run Saturday to Saturday, we currently have some flexibility and may be able to accommodate different start/end days.
Can I bring my pets?
We are a dog friendly rental, but require a $100 additional pet fee. We ask that you only bring one well behaved dog, but will consider a second. Please inquire with us directly. Cats are not allowed. Please inquire directly about any other type of pet.
Can I invite all my college buddies over for a keg party??
We can't believe you would ask that, but appreciate your honesty! Please don't.... Lake Arrowhead is a fun, family friendly community, but it is not Mardi Gras. Our neighbors are year round residents who appreciate a good night's sleep and will not take kindly to loud, drunken parties. While we don't mind you inviting additional daytime guests over for barbecue or day on the lake, we would appreciate it if you would refrain from anything that could result in a visit from the local police department.
I will be bringing an elderly or disabled family member. Is the residence handicap accessible?
While the home is unfortunately not handicap accessible, there are two bedrooms on the first floor which can come in handy for guests for whom stairs may present a challenge. There are five steps going up into the house, but once there, all the important stuff can be enjoyed on the main floor including a walk in shower. The walk down to the water is a bit more aggressive. and while there are stairs leading down to the water, it is a pretty steep incline, and would be tough for someone who faces mobility challenges. However, the deck is off the living room on the main floor and provides a beautiful view of the lake and the back yard. The clubhouse facilities (the pools and game room) are easily accessible.
I've heard rumors about invasive species in Lake Arrowhead. Is it safe to swim?
While it is true that Lake Arrowhead has had long standing issues with an invasive plant species called milfoil, it is really just a nuisance and not a safety concern. The water is safe to swim and play in but if you are bringing a boat or water toys, you will want to make sure you wash them properly before bringing them to other lakes so as not to risk spreading the plant to other bodies of water. Do you accept credit cards? When do I have to pay?
We are able to take credit card payments over the phone or can send you a link that will allow you to enter payment yourself. If you are able to pay via check,however, we will waive the 3.5% service fee so you will save some money! We request a 50% deposit at the time of booking in order to hold the rental with the remainder due three days prior to check in.
What if I change my mind or something comes up and I have to cancel my reservation? Will I get my deposit back?
While we understand and appreciate that stuff happens, no one wants to have a last minute summer rental cancellation and have such a beautiful place sit empty when someone else could have been enjoying it. For situations that are at all within your control (you change your mind, decide to book a trip to Tahiti instead, love your job so much you decide to work instead, etc...), we are happy to refund your deposit if you notify us at least 30 days prior to your scheduled rental or within 24 hours of booking. If you are unable to meet this timeline but need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, we will attempt to rent out the property for that week at the same rate and if we are successful, we will refund your deposit. If we have to reduce the rate due to insufficient notice, we may issue a partial deposit refund. If unable to rent the property due to a late cancellation (less than 30 day notice), deposits will be forfeited. That being said, please contact us as soon as possible with any issues, and we will do our best to work with you.
What should I pack?
The rental is equipped with the basics, things you would expect to find such as pots and pans, dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, etc... In addition to these items, we also provide the following:

- Hair dryer
- Iron/ironing board
- Bath towels
- Linens (sheets, blankets, pillows, pillow cases)
- Keurig coffee maker
- Traditional coffee maker (cone filter type)

The house will also have the essentials to get you started like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, laundry detergent, soap, etc... but depending on the length of your stay, you may wish to pack a little extra anyway just to avoid an unexpected run to the grocery store.
Does the property have internet and cable tv?
The rental comes with access to Wifi and passwords will provided to you at check in. We can not, however, guarantee there may not be occasional service outages that are beyond our control. Cable tv and a phone landline is also available. International calling from the landline is not permitted and renters will be billed for any authorized use.

Where is the pool and what are the clubhouse hours?
There are two club houses - one with the fitness center and the other with the games and the pools. For more information about policies and rules, please check out the Lake Arrowhead community's site.
The club house with the indoor and outdoor pools is located just down the street at 206 Old Portland Rd., North Waterboro. The clubhouse phone number is 207-247-5603.

Please note: Due to staffing challenges, there are at times unexpected closures of the clubhouses and indoor facilities.

Can we use the kayaks in the basement?
Yes! We have five kayaks on site that are free to use while you are our guest. Please be sure to put them back when you are done, including paddles and life jackets.
Can we bring our own boat to explore the lake?
Yes! There is a public boat launch and you are welcome to bring your own boat and dock it at the lakehouse. Please note, however, that the house is located in a cove and you may encounter some shallow areas so please keep this in mind. Water activities are at your own risk, and we can not any liability for your boat or safety while out on the lake so please boat responsibly. Please also be aware of the milfoil precautions necessary and wash your boat before heading off on your next adventure.
